HOMETOWN: Rochester Hills, MI
Joanne’s life has been an action packed adventure for as long as she can remember, and judging by her quick wit and sharp sense of style, it’s been a life full of friends, family and fashion!
This 63-year old go-getter isn’t one to make excuses, or let an opportunity for fun or mischief pass her by. At the age of 23, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and nearly 40 years later she can still out perform her friends on the golf course, on the dance floor, and just about any other activity that requires high energy. Outgoing and extremely personable, she defies the stereotype of a senior with MS, and gladly speaks on behalf of the AARP to fellow retirees about the benefits of living a healthy and active lifestyle.
Perhaps the greatest gift to emerge from retirement has been her group of girlfriends and their ability to celebrate the gift of sisterhood with one another. Proving that while fashion trends may come and go, friendships can last forever…
