Show Full Recap

SWV drama reaches an all-time high as the group’s national tour draws to an end. Coko is forging ahead with her gospel album, Taj’s husband has a possible job opportunity in NYC that could be detrimental to the future of SWV, and the ladies discover their surefire out with their old record label has hit some serious snags.  Frayed Edges The ladies are in NYC taking care of business before jetting to their final concert at the acclaimed Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Taj and Lelee continue to stress their displeasure with Coko and her desire for a solo career. Once again an argument breaks out as the ‘Coko versus Taj and Lelee’ debate persues. Coko breaks away briefly from the group to work with her producer on a new gospel song. As bonded as she is with Taj and Lelee, she feels very strongly about finishing her gospel album and stays true to form as she explains, “Coko has to do what’s good for Coko.” Once Coko returns to the hotel, she meets with Taj and Lelee to play her latest song for them, hoping they will support her. With great reservation, the ladies give Coko their stamp of approval as well as their blessing to go through with her solo career—as long as it doesn’t interfere with SWV. A large reason for the girls to be in New York includes signing their much-anticipated record deal with Sony and everyone is pumped to have such a giant label backing the group. Unfortunately, a major glitch happens when the ladies discover they haven’t been released from their last record deal with Mass Appeal Entertainment. Now they must meet with Marcus, the head of the company to discuss getting out of their contract. If he refuses, they could lose their new manager, Jeff, and just as bad, their deal with Sony. The ladies make their plea, but Marcus refuses to let SWV out of its contractual obligation and the ladies are defeated as they are forced to make a final album. Now they must worry if they will lose their new manager—who has no idea of the debacle—and the deal with Sony. Before leaving for L.A., the girls meet with Jeff. Gratefully, the worry of being kicked to the curb by their manager is thwarted because Jeff decides to continue working with the group. However, this is not without the contention that will quit as manager if the girls every burn him again. But now it’s Coko who is torn between continuing with SWV if they are forced work with Marcus and Mass Appeal.  Get Them To The Greek Finally, the girls are in L.A. to perform at the iconic Greek Theater and everyone is on cloud nine. Eddie shows up at rehearsal and meets with Taj alone. He tells her he was definitely offered the job in New York and this news deflates Taj. But then he says he didn’t take the position because he wants to support Taj’s career which has her breathing easy. Coko also gets Cory alone for a one-on-one during sound check to tell him she doesn’t want to continue with the album if Marcus is handling the record. Cory explains if she doesn’t, it will be the end of SWV. The comeback of SWV has been a plethora of laughter and tears, thrills and disappointments. And all three SWV members agree their experience has been wonderfully positive. Wrapping their comeback tour and in Los Angeles was the perfect setting and the group all agreed they ended on a welcomed high. 0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ascii-font-family:Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;} Still bringing the drama, Coko meets with Taj and Lelee after the show to give the ultimatum if they must record another album with Marcus, she is choosing her solo career over SWV. This floors Taj and Lelee. After a major tour and huge comeback, Coko is now willing to throw all of their hard work away and no one knows what will become of SWV.
