Paul Spicer has had a fulfilling life, living his dream as a defensive end for the New Orleans Saints. Even with all of his success as an NFL football player, he still feels a void from not knowing his father. Paul’s mother and father broke up before he was born. Paul has had his own struggles with fatherhood and feels his father’s absence impacted that. Paul is hopeful that Troy can help him find answers to fill in the blanks of his family tree.

What do you stand for?” He’s always looking to the stands, hoping that his father is seated somewhere. Because Paul’s life has been filled with so many unanswered questions, he feels that any information would help bring him peace.

The Searchees: Charles Spicer—Charles was the charismatic eldest of 10 siblings who had four other children in addition to Paul. His brief relationship with Paul’s mother and ended before Paul was born.
