A Daughter’s Last Hope
After 27 years, Leticia has yet to give up the hope of finding her father, Gilbert. She was only 2 years-old when her parents divorced and her father’s presence in her life began to diminish. Gilbert was in and out of her life up until the age of 10, only seeing her on weekends and holidays or whenever he chose to visit. Eventually Gilbert stopped coming around and Leticia has no idea why. For many people, this would appear to be the classic case of a deadbeat dad, but, growing up, Leticia’s mom, Daisy, always told her that she shouldn’t blame Gilbert for leaving because he just wasn’t ready to be a father. Leticia has always rationalized her father’s reasons for leaving, but even after a 30 year absence, Leticia has forgiveness in her heart and still wants a chance at having her father back in her life. If Troy can find Leticia’s father, will he be the stereotypical deadbeat dad and go back into hiding or will this reunion be something he has been dreaming of for 3 decades?
