Like many kids who grew up as an only child, Kim Hudson dreamed of having siblings. Kim’s favorite fantasy was that she had a big brother who would protect her and look out for her. These feelings were always so strong; she used to pretend that some of her high school friends were really her older brothers. It wasn’t until Kim was older that she began asking questions about her adoption and to her delight, not only were Kim’s adoptive parents able to give her some information about her birthmother they also informed her that she has an older brother as well.  After much self debate about when would be the right time to seek out her birth family, she has finally found the strength to reach out and hopes that Troy and The Locator Team can help make her dreams come true, by finding her biological mother and big brother.

The Searcher - Kim- seeking her birth mother and her brother- Kim was adopted at 10 months old to the most loving parents she could have ever asked for.   Both Kim and her adoptive parents consider the decision that her birth mother made the best gift of their lives.  Kim remembers her parents telling her that she was adopted when she was around 8 years old.  She learned that her mother already had a 2 year old son and that raising 2 kids as a single mom was too difficult to handle so did what she thought was right.  Growing up having some answers made life as an adoptee easier, but now that Kim is almost 30 and has 2 children of her own, she doesn’t want to miss out on any more time with her birth mother and brother.

The Searchee- Daniel- Kim’s half brother- Daniel found out that he had a sister when he received the phone call from Troy. It was overwhelming, but he can understand why he wasn’t told growing up. His parents divorced when he was less than a year old and because his mother had medical complications, he was placed in the custody of his father.   Daniel had visitation with his mother on a regular basis, they took many vacations, and ultimately he feels that they had a good life together.  Unfortunately his time with his mother was cut short as she passed away when he was only 12 years old. He regrets that they lost her so early in life because he wishes his kids could have known their grandmother and now he wishes that she could be here to meet Kim.
