In the middle of the summer, when your garden is overflowing with summer squash, tomatoes and beans do you ever wonder, “What am I going to do with all of these vegetables?”
Ample Harvest has the answer. The organization facilitates home gardeners’ donating their excess harvest to local food pantries. You can find a food pantry near you by typing in your address, or zip code at ampleharvest.org/find-pantry.php. So, go ahead. Plant all the zucchini you want. They’ll all get eaten!
Even if you don’t have a garden, you can support Ample Harvest’s work by:
- Telling your friends who are home gardeners about Ample Harvest
- Encouraging your local food pantries to register on Ample Harvest
- Downloading an Ample Harvest flier to post in your local garden shop, nursery, or hardware store
