If anyone would know “the” places to eat, drink and be seen in either LA or New York City, it’s My Fair Wedding‘s David Tutera. The bi-coastal wedding and entertainment expert just isn’t a pro at bringing a ballroom to life—the author of My Fair Wedding: Finding Your Vision…Through His Revisions! also excels at selecting cocktail recipes and food pairings to complement any special event. So with all of his years of experience, we were wondering which places receive a gold star in his book on both the east and west coasts. (And he even shares his new favorite cocktail!)

And while my favorite drink is whiskey on the rocks, my new favorite drink is…the moscow mule (vodka, ginger beer, and lime).
