I was born and raised in San Diego, CA and I was asked to go to the Boys and Girls Club and speak to teenage girls about not only what I’ve overcome in my life, but how they can overcome challenges as well. I stayed at my mom’s house when I was there and got to catch up with my family, which was cool because I hadn’t seen them in a while. I got a little nervous before my speech because with me you NEVER know how much I’m going to say so I needed some help by talking to my family to figure out what I should say. I didn’t want to go overboard with how much I said to the girls so my family definitely helped me with that. Talking to teenage girls is definitely something I see myself doing more. It’s always so nice to go home and catch up. I’ll never forget where I come from.
When Dr. Drew invited us on his show we couldn’t pass it up because I love Dr. Drew and I always have a blast on his shows. I love his shows because he really asks you questions that everyone wants to know and doesn’t judge you at all. He’s so easy to talk to. So Hank and I went on but Hank was only asked like 1 of 20 questions, which made Hank wonder why he was on it. I see it as support for him being there but I could also totally see his side. After that I went to my Love Candy meeting. I was SO excited for this meeting because we were finally talking my language! I really wanted to take the next step and add some more fun to my line so this meeting helped do that! I got to really test out the products and narrow it down to a perfect kit. Getting the samples was awesome so I can see what I like and don’t like about my product line. I love being really involved and making sure it is exactly what I want. Everything looked amazing and we’re working our asses off to get you guys the best product! While I was at my meeting for Love Candy, Hank was out with Travelle looking for a space for their workout facility they were looking to open. After seeing the space it looked like a CRAZY amount of work so they needed to really decide if that’s what they wanted to do. But at the same time it started to feel like things were really starting to come together for us.
Waking up on my birthday at 5AM without my family was definitely a bust! I definitely wasn’t starting off my day feeling country-ish… especially being around my Hollywood publicist and her outfit! But as we were driving on the bus that’s when I started feeling country because we were literally in the country… like… in the middle of nowhere! Pulling up to the first mud bog was scary because I was definitely not ready to get in the mud yet but I knew it was coming at some point, but it was good I had some warm up before the big scene! The second mud bog we went to was just wrong! LOL!! It was GREEN and looked like it was full of all kinds of crazy disease! That’s when I started praying. Then I saw the American flag and that was a breath of fresh air because you can’t get mud on the American flag! And finally… the finale where we had to get in the mud! I don’t think anyone was actually expecting me to do it, but come on…what’s my name?!! There was a point where I could have taken my tank top off and danced around in my bikini top but I decided not to because I felt like that would have been tooooooo dirty ; ) On the way back from the video shoot what you guys didn’t see is that I forgot to pack my own soap to wash all the mud off with so I had to use hand soap from the bathroom LOL!! But I didn’t care! I was SO desperate to get clean. I had a fun day but talk about a dirty, cold, lonely feeling being without my family. I’m on my way to the hotel room, put the key in the door, open it up and guess who’s standing there??? Right there, right in front of me was all I needed in my life. Everything else was just a bonus, everything that matters was standing right there behind that hotel door. All I needed was my family and I got it. It was the best birthday gift I’ve ever had.
After New York while I was heading to the airport to go to Nashville I got emotional because being away from my son and NOW my husband for another week was going to be really hard for me. The second Kira and I landed in Nashville I felt like I wanted to throw a tantrum because I wouldn’t be happy until I was with my husband and son again! But then Kira made me laugh a little and made me feel like I should just make the best out of this time. I have to admit, I had never heard of the LoCash Cowboys before I met with them so I didn’t know what to expect. During the meeting though things started sounding interesting! The guys were really cool BUT when they were throwing out the word mud I freaked out a little. LOL! I was hoping it was going to be manmade mud! I’ve driven stick shift my whole life but a rusty old beat up jeep was a little different for me, but I needed to practice before the big video the next day. After my stick shift lesson, I went into the wardrobe fitting for the video shoot and let me tell you….coming from Hollywood I was like, “this is wardrobe???” LOL!! But it was awesome and everything fit great! On to the video!!!
