Episode Summary: Samantha Johnson, 31, is seeking her long-lost godmother, Hattie Scales. Growing up, Samantha spent a large chunk of time with her godmother since both her parents were in the military. Hattie remarried and moved away when Samantha was 14, and they never saw one another again. Seventeen years later, Samantha lives in Sacramento, Calif., and still feels as though she lost her own mother. She wants to find Hattie to rebuild the close relationship they once shared. As for Hattie, she now has two sons of her own, and describes Samantha as "the daughter I never had."

The Searchers: Samantha Johnson - Samantha is seeking her godmother, Hattie, who helped raise her. Samantha wants Hattie to know who she is now as a grown-up woman. Divorced and the mother of three children, she resides in Sacramento, Calif., where she works for the DMV, while launching her own photography business.

The Searchees: Hattie Scales - Hattie recalls that Samantha's father and stepmother treated her more like an adopted child, and that they focused their love and attention on their natural-born son. Hattie now has two sons of her own, and describes Samantha as the daughter she never had.
