TRAVEL FOR GOOD AWARD
Travelocity’s Travel for Good program seeks to make the world a better place, one trip at a time. Each quarter Travelocity sponsors deserving travelers to take volunteer vacations. Voluntourism or volunteer vacations, allows you to do more than just see the world–they help you change it. The winner of Travelocity’s Travel for Good Award will choose a destination she’s passionate about and be given the chance to participate in a local service project to improve the lives of a community and/or the natural environment.
PRIZE PACKAGE INCLUDES
- $5,000 Voluntourism Grant- A volunteer vacation (includes room and board), approx. $2,500; airfare for the winner to the volunteer destination, approx. $2,500
- Trip for winner and a guest to New York City for award presentation at the WE DO Good Awards Event, late 2010
PRIZE DETAILS
The winner will select any trip from Travelocity’s official voluntourism partners: Cross-Cultural Solutions, Earthwatch Institute, Globe Aware, or American Hiking Society. Travelocity will cover the volunteer vacation and the travel to the destination–up to a total cost of $5,000.
Imagine working with a meerkat colony in Kalahari. Picture living in a kids’ center at the foot of Machu Picchu. Spend several weeks building a school in Ghana. No matter what her passion is, the Travel for Good Award winner will be able to find a trip that inspires her and gives her the opportunity to change the world with her own two hands.
This grant will fund up to $5,000 for the transportation to, as well as the cost of, any trip organized by one of Travelocity’s voluntourism partners for the Travelocity’s Travel for Good Award winner. The winner must accept the Terms and Conditions and Agreement for the Travelocity voluntourism grant and all conditions listed on the Change Ambassadors page apply. The winner is allowed to split the grant with a guest but the total grant will remain $5,000. The winner may extend her airline ticket dates beyond her volunteer vacation to explore her destination–but Travelocity will only cover her costs during theofficial volunteer vacation portion of her trip.
WOMEN ON THEIR WAY AWARD
Wyndham Worldwide believes in respecting everyone, everywhere; giving back to the communities in which we live, work and play; and in exuding a “Count On Me!” attitude. The Women on Their Way by Wyndham Worldwide Award will recognize a woman who is making a measurable impact both in her career and in her charitable efforts. This woman is balancing work, life, and community service.

- All-inclusive weekend vacation at the Playacar Palace Wyndham Grand Resort – 3 days, 2 nights vacation, approximate value $800; airfare for two (160,000 Wyndham Rewards points), approximate value $1,400
- $10,000 donation to charity of winner’s choice that benefits children
