Location: New York, New York Occupation: Owner, “Coletteʼs Cakes” Colette Peters is the reigning queen of cakes. Since 1991, she has made Coletteʼs Cakes one of the most prestigious cake shops in the country and has written five, highly-acclaimed books. She has made cakes for celebrities such as Yoko Ono, Sting, Bette Midler, Liza Minelli, Whoopi Goldberg, Russell Simmons, Al Pacino and The Rolling Stones. She has also made an eight-tier wedding cake for the royal wedding of Prince Pavlos of Greece. In 1997 and 1999, Colette designed the Christmas windows at Tiffanyʼs in NYC. In 1998 and again in 2000, Colette was asked by First Lady Hillary Clinton to create Christmas scenes in sugar for the public rooms in the White House. In 2005, she was asked to make a five-foot replica of the White House for George W. Bushʼs inauguration. Colette has been featured in The New York Times, InStyle, Ladyʼs Home Journal and Good Housekeeping, among others. She has also appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, CBS This Morning, Today, Good Morning America and CNN. Colette regularly teaches cake making and decorating classes in Brazil, Europe and North America. Known for her patience and sweet demeanor, Colette is one of the most recognizable figures in the cake making community.
