He’s been called the Manolo Blahnik of cakes because of his creative styling and because his confections are a favorite among celebrities and the style-conscious. Brides say that to sample one of his cakes is to experience the difference between mere cake and pure ambrosia. He started making his edible works of art towards the end of a successful career as a professional ballet dancer. His delicate and elegant cakes were first discovered when they were displayed in Mikimoto's window in New York City. Commissions soon followed for displays at De Beer's, Bergdorf Goodman and Vera Wang. Today Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey are fans. |
