The Climb

Not all Trash the Dress shoots involve mud, paint, water or a lighter fluid. Many sessions are shot in unique locations a couple wouldn’t typically visit on a wedding day. Mecheal Johnson explains, “Since you wouldn’t climb a tree on the wedding day, at risk of tearing the dress, this gives the bride an opportunity to be more relaxed entering into areas that are risky, but that are personal to her.”

This bride, Jamie, decided to do a photo shoot at her family’s home in the Northwest bayous of Florida 10 years after her wedding. Since Jamie grew up on this bayou and climbed the enormous old oak trees as young girl, she knew the location would be the perfect spot. Mecheal adds, “She was a little nervous since she hadn’t climbed in years and an 8-foot alligator was captured in the bayou just the week before.”
