Growing Up Hip Hop star Egypt Criss and her mother Pepa sat down with The Breakfast Club to discuss everything from Egypt’s singing aspirations to spilling the tea on the new season of #GUHH!

With Egypt growing into a musical artist herself, Pepa made sure to clear the air on her stance about her daughter deciding not to go to college in exchange for a singing career. She said, “she’s come into her own and she’s strong and she’s showed me this amazing energy and she wants it bad, so I’m not going kill it or stop it.” When asked if she can handle the pressure of having two famous parents to live up to, Egypt said, “I believe I can, I’ve been preparing for it since I was little, ever since I knew that I wanted to be an artist.” But when your mom is Pepa there are always some ground rules, “She is a good girl, she doesn’t curse, some people write music for her and I’m like, no cursing and no n-word!” Good call mom!

When discussing her childhood, Egypt pointed out that mama Pepa laid on the love thick, saying “we’re really affectionate.” Pepa chimed in adding that she always makes sure that she says, “I love you” and "you're beautiful." WE want a mom like Pepa! Although Egypt confessed that she listens to more of her mom’s music than her dad’s, she went on to praise him for being a musical genius, “He is very talented and I love the way he raps!”
