GooGoo’s Holiday Style Tips: Five Must-Have Fashion Accessories

Now that the holiday season is underway, it's all about get-togethers, celebrations, spreading cheer—and let's face it, looking like the life of the party! So how can you dress up your wardrobe to give it that extra dose of festive style? WE tv turned to their very own celebrity stylist Thomasina "GooGoo" Atkins.

A costume designer for television and stage, GooGoo has also created looks for music videos, magazine covers, the runway, the red carpet, and most notably for her Gospel singing sisters Erica and Tina Campbell, also know as Mary Mary.

Here, GooGoo inspires us with her top five favorite holiday chic picks that can jazz up any outfit.

Multicolored Scarves

"Scarves are ideal for adding splashes of colors from which you can choose one or two to highlight in your look," says GooGoo. "I have a gorgeous one myself—it's shiny gold, red, turquoise, and mustard. I wore it last with a pair of blue jeans, a white tee, a mustard pea coat and gold hoop earrings. I was too cute—I wish you all could have seen me!"

Rider Boots

"Rider boots are great to put over a skinny pant," says GooGoo. "But my favorite way to wear [boots] are over tights under a beautiful sweater dress."

Leather Gloves

"I recently saw some super funky studded leather gloves that rocked my world!" admits GooGoo. "This is a super fun and fly accessory to have this fall and winter. I absolutely cannot wait to wear them with my cute leather motorcycle jacket, leather leggings and my studded leather booties!"

Earrings

"My two favorite earring types—at the moment—are hoops and buttons," says GooGoo. "While button earrings can't be warn or seen with long hair styles, the right hoop will always make its way through your lovely locks and add just the right pop you need for your look. I recommend a stoned hoop for this holiday season since it can be dressed up or dressed down. It's great for times when you have to go straight from work to a holiday party. Hoop it!"

A Great Broach

"Broaches are so cute and versatile," says GooGoo. "My personal fave is a big, blingy one! One of my favorite uses for a fabulous broach is to hold my scarf in place. Over a basic top, I will drape myself with a large scarf. Then once I've covered most of my top, I pin the scarf to my shirt and bra so that the scarf stays put. See—adding just the right broach takes me from basic to fancy in seconds!"
