Hip Hop royalty, Jermaine Dupri, was honored for his musical contributions over the weekend at the annual Trumpet Awards in Atlanta. The event celebrates African American achievements and contributions.

Dupri’s resume includes working with artists like Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta’s Shad Moss a.k.a Bow Wow, Da Brat, Xscape, Kriss Kross, Jay-z, Janet Jackson and Destiny’s Child. He’s also celebrating 25 years of his So So Def Recordings label.  With receipts like that, it’s no wonder he received the Music Innovation Award.
