Romeo Talks Romance and Business

WE have been watching Romeo Miller on his journey to take over Master P's No Limit enterprise on Growing Up Hip Hop. Recently, Romeo chatted with NBC BLK to talk about what he’s learned along the way, as an artist and an executive. He even discussed how he's grown in his personal life!

Romeo revealed that getting more personal this season on #GUHH was an authentic experience, but as for his love life, he isn’t named Romeo for nothing! “I think my name speaks for itself. Like honestly, people call me a real-life Romeo. Like for real. I have four sisters so I truly appreciate women... so when I'm in a relationship, it's weird because it's like a marriage - not a relationship. I do everything I can for that person whether it's helping this person with their life or helping this person with a business. Imma be that person you can always depend on. That's just the hardest thing for me. What I learned from my past relationships is that I give so much... I have to find someone who can give some of that back to me. I always had this fairy tale vision of how I envision love and everything and I'm still a hopeless romantic.”

A man after our own heart!

Romeo put his rap and acting career on pause while he attended college. He said that experience alone helped him prepare for the cutthroat world of the entertainment business. “Going to college prepared me for life. It made me grow up,” Romeo explained. He went on to say how children of celebrities often miss out on that real-life experience. “You have to learn about yourself before you can truly be successful. Before you can truly know who you are, you have to fail. And not only fail, you have to be around other people who [are] going through similar struggles as you.”

Romeo also learned the keys to success from his father. His advice to young entrepreneurs? “Always know your competition."

WE can't wait to hear what other gems Romeo has when Growing Up Hip Hop returns this Thursday at 9|8c!
